Cowboy Coffee
Have you heard of the legend of “cowboy coffee“? It was said they made their coffee by putting ground coffee into a clean sock and immersed it in water heated over campfire. When ready, they would pour the coffee into tin cups and drink it. Even with a clean sock….YUCK!!
Another American legend has it that a cowboy used to pour the grounds in the bottom of the pot, add some egg shells (to settle the grounds?) pour in the water and boil. He would then drink the coffee while it was still bubbling. He called that “Cowboy Coffee“.
